May we introduce the very handsome Dakini...
With a name that means "Soldier Boy" and the nick-name of Keanie, this lad is searching for a very special home.
Whilst he has lived in a multi-dog household, Keanie gets along far better with the girlies. He's not brilliant with other dogs when walking and isn't interested in greeting. Dog-savvy children only, as he can be a bit excitable. Although raised with cats, Keanie has not had feline company for 18 months so would probably need re-training to live happily with one.
Keanie has one malformed front leg, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He's a strong walker so is looking for a fit and active owner with Lhasa experience.
You'll find training easy, as this lad loves his treats and works well for them. He will play tug and fetch, but doesn't see why he should do so for long. He's a good lad in the car. You can leave him for short periods and, although he will protest vocally for a short while, he soon settles down for a good snooze.
Keanie has a preference for the ladies where humans are concerned, too, although he will accept a man if given time. Once he accepts you, you're his friend for life!
The lad has selective hearing and may be best kept on lead in busy areas. He's good to clip and bathe.
His fosterer says "Dakini is a typical Lhasa lad - he is gobby! He is very talkative and sometimes this can be seen as aggressive but it isnt at all. For that reason and the fact that he could quite easilly become a dominant dog he would need to be rehomed with someone who truely understands the Lhasa nature.
He is a big softy who tries to act tougher than he is, he needs clear boundaries and an equal amount of love and fuss.
Dakini will happily sleep on the end of the bed or in the kitchen."
If you are interested in adopting Dakini please message Admin with your name and contact number (landline if possible) and one of our staff team will call you to take further details.
