Alice and Ralph are 5 year and 4 year old long haired Chihuahuas currently sharing their foster home with five other dogs in Norfolk.
Ralph is the more outgoing of the pair and loves to play. Alice is more reserved and prefers to play with dogs of her own size. She is nervous of larger dogs and exhibits this by snapping at them.
When Alice and Ralph meet new people they will bark, Ralph will soon come around and jump on your lap to lick your hand. Alice likes a bit of time to decide that she wants to come and say hello but once she knows she is safe she won't leave your lap and enjoys the fuss.
Ralph and Alice were used to seeing visiting grandchildren in their previous home and no issues were reported. Therefore they can be homed with dog savvy children over 12 years.
Ralph and Alice are both good on the lead. Ralph loves to go for his daily walk. Alice hasn't been used to going out much so is quite nervous, she has to be encouraged to keep walking and really prefers to play in the garden. Alice will bark at dogs she sees on a walk but Ralph will just ignore them.
This adorable duo are very well trained, they will sit, stay and go to their beds if asked. Both have great recall and are fully house-trained. they are fed on a diet of raw food and biscuits. They will share their food together and with the other house mates with no issues.
They share a bed and crate and are fine to be left for up to 4 hours quite happily with a treat given and travel well either in a harness or a crate.
They have not had any close contact with cats, however, have met the fosterer's cat and were very scared of him.
Ralph and Alice love to be groomed, they are very long haired and lots of grooming is essential for their coats to be kept in good condition.
Their foster mum has this to say about them:
Ralph is very outgoing and loves to play with other dogs- will charge around and play chase. He is very unsure when first meeting other dogs and does need patience and time to get to know them, he will growl and snap back if pushed by another dog. He is a good all rounder, toileting, commands, loves to go on walks, loves to play and loves to sit on your lap.
Alice is a very nervous chi that once you get to know is very loving, can be hand shy sometimes, prefers humans and is a real lap dog. Will sit by your side all the time hoping to get onto your lap, once settled will cuddle up with you and enjoy the attention. She loves to sit with my daughter, she is very obedient and will sit, stay and go to bed when asked. She is very long haired and needs lots of grooming to keep her hair tangle free which she loves. She is completely house trained and loves pottering around in the back garden. A very easy and enjoyable, well loved foster dog.
These two would suit a home with no other dogs or possibly one other chi which enjoyed playing (for Ralph) , a family who were home most of the time or worked part time , happy for short walks and lots of time for sitting and grooming.
Alice and Ralph have been neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and flea and worm treated.
