Heff and Minnie are a delightful bonded pair, Heff is a Labrador x Collie and Minnie a Pug x Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They have come into the rescue due to a childhood allergy and were much loved in their last home.
This lovely duo love their belly rubs and have been the perfect house guests since arriving in their foster home. Heff is like a gentle giant, Minnie will often look to him for re-assurance and guidance and he is more than happy to help his little pal.
Heff and Minnie get on well with all the dogs in the foster home, Minnie is more reserved than Heff and at first would ignore or grumble if dogs encroached her personal space. She soon came round and now she plays quite happily with the other dogs, she just needed a little extra time to feel comfortable. Heff loves all other dogs and instigates play all the time, he is a big bundle of fun and totally submissive.
Heff and Minnie love meeting new people, there is lots of enthusiastic tail wagging from Minnie and Heff at first can get a little excited but will soon calm down.
Both Heff and Minnie know all their basic commands and are very well trained, knowing "sit", "stay", "wait" and "lay" on command. Such a clever couple!!
Heff needs a good walk every day, he has fantastic recall off lead as does Minnie. Heff is a strong boy and will pull on the lead. Little Minnie walks very well on her lead. Heff loves to greet other dogs he meets, he is very submissive and will cower down if another dog barks at him. He will sit and wait whilst other dogs pass him if instructed by his foster mum. Minnie is a little more reserved when meeting new dogs, she will ignore them if off lead and will grumble a little when on the lead. If they get wet or dirty they are both happy to be groomed.
Heff loves to play with toys but Minnie is not at all interested. They both loves treats if offered. Minnie is fed seperately at mealtimes as she does not like to share her food.
Heff and Minnie can be homed with children over 6 years.
They have not been cat tested.
Heff and Minnie travel well in the car.
Heff and Minnie are currently left for three hours a day and so long as they have each other they settle happily. They both sleep downstairs and share a bed.
Their foster mum has this to say about them:
Heff is a gentle giant , he is well behaved and well trained, he loves to be off the lead, but be warned he loves water and will end up in it if allowed. He gets on brilliantly with all dogs and is always playing and charging around the garden. He also loves a cuddle and a belly rub He has been the perfect guest and I feel whoever is lucky enough to re-home him will get 100% of love and companionship back. Very bonded, Heff did not like to be left alone before Minnie came along.
Minnie is a very quiet dog, she follows Heff and will look to him for direction. They are very bonded pair. Minnie loves human attention and will lay all evening on her back on your lap getting her belly rubbed. She will talk to you when it is breakfast and Tea time. She loves to run round the garden with Heff and also on walks follows him up the fields. She is a pleasure to look after and will be sorely missed.
Heff and Minnie are both neutered / spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and flea and worm treated.
