Summary
Lexie is a playful loving little girl who is well socialised with great manners. She is being fostered in a multi dog household and absolutely adores children.
Lexie
Lexie loves other dogs and is playful with them, she acts like a puppy but is very respectful if a dog chooses not to play and will happily amuse herself with toys or a tuggy rope.
Out on walks Lexie greets nicely and then trots off happy to explore her surroundings. She is very adaptable to different walking routines, Lexie will walk for miles but is equally as happy to have a short walk. If she has a shorter walk she is never destructive but may be more energetic, and will use her energy playing with her toys.
As Lexie is so eager to explore on her walks she tends to weave and pull on the lead so will benefit from further training in this area.
Lexie's foster mum has beeen working hard on her recall using as a long training lead and she is coming along great, she is very food orientated so is easily trainable and is learning fast.
Lexie loves people and greets nicely, she loves a fuss and cuddle and particularly adores children and the fuss that she receives from them.
Lexie loves her food! She does have a very sensitive tummy so is being fed Chappie wet dog food as this seems to suit her. At human mealtimes she goes to her bed as she could be an opportunist around food.
Lexie will allow you to take chews and toys from her, she will growl but this is her way of talking to you and is not in the slightest aggressive.
Playing with her toys is something Lexie loves, she likes to empty her toybox and throw them around playing chase or a game of tug with another dog or a willing human friend.
In the car Lexie travels well in a crate.
Lexie can be left for short periods although she would prefer for someone to be around most of the time. She will whine for a short while when first left but will soon settle and be quiet on your return.
Lexie's coat does not moult so she will need brushing 2-3 times a week to prevent matting. She will also need clipping a couple of times a year.
Lexie is still getting used to being brushed but can be won round by a chew to keep her occupied.
Lexie has not be fully cat tested.
Her foster mum has this to add: "Lexie as an absolute delight to foster. She is extremely loving, playful, fun, eager to please and no trouble at all. She can occasionally be vocal in her growling but there is no malice in her at all. Her growling is communication ... Just like you and I talking.
She is tall. Much taller than my cavs or shitzu. She would like an active home, something to keep her brain occupied, long walks or an activity like agility or obedience. Her new owners would have to be prepared to work on her lead walking. Everyone who meets her falls under her spell"
Lexie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated.
