Jimmy is an absolute gem of a Jack Russell chap, and would make a fantastic companion in almost any home.
This 7 year old fellow came to TLDR from a private home through no fault of his own. He has been a gent previously with other dogs in the home and is very submissive, so a home with another dog would be possible, although he also adores people and would be a happy chap with one to one company.
On walks Jimmy greets other dogs and people nicely although is not so keen of puppys as they are too bouncy. He also lives alongside cats and furries quite comfortably, so a home with these would be considered as long as the cats were dog aware.
Jimmy has previously lived with young children and has shown himself to be very nicely behaved around them, and we would consider a home with children aged 5 years and above as long as the children were used to living with dogs and knew how to behave sensibly.
Jimmy is happily crate trained and his owners use this for car travel. Without the crate in a car he will not settle and becomes distressed. A new owner must be willing to continue offering a crate for car journeys and as a safe/calm sleeping area in the home.
Jimmy has excellent recall on walks, although he does pull a little when on lead so this will need some continued work. However he loves treats and will work hard for the reward, so he's a happy boy to train. He loves playing fetch, but being a typical terrier toys generally need to be the 'indestructible' kind
Jimmy loves to be groomed and bathed and as you can see from the photos is a rough coated JRT his owner has him trimmed every three months. He does has sensitive skin, so needs to be bathed with a medicated shampoo, and keeping his coat well groomed will ensure he stays comfortable. He does not enjoy being clipped around his rear end though and does need muzzling for this.
