Summary
Woody is a very loving and loyal Jack Russell Terrier who hasn't had a very good start to life. Woody's new family will need to be prepared to continue his training, socialisation and help him gain in his confidence. Some previous terrier experience would be an advantage.
Woody will also need to live alongside another dog of a similar size as he really doesn't like to be left alone. Woody can live with dog sensible children over five years but not cats or small furries.
Woody
Woody is living with two female dogs of a similar size in his foster home and absolutely adores their company. He loves playing with toys, particularly with tug of war ropes with the other dogs. He can, however, be a little bit possessive with rawhide chews and will try steal them from the others given the chance! He currently sleeps in the kitchen with the other dogs. He goes to bed at the same time as his foster family and will bark once he hears someone up and about in the morning. He is happy to go straight out in the garden and then likes to come in and have his breakfast!
Woody currently enjoys one long walk a day, usually for 1-2 hours, the majority of which is free running. He loves his walks and meeting dogs of a similar size, however, he is not so keen on larger dogs. He greets them enthusiastically with a wagging tail but will bark continuously at them so Woody's new owner will need to be prepared to work on this. Woody is good on the lead although he will bark if someone walks by with a dog so this too will need some work. Woody's recall is good, although he is young and enthusiastic so hearing is sometimes selective!
Woody is happy to meet new people but will bark at them for a few minutes first until he gets used to the idea of them. Woody has been good with all children he has met and will be able to live with dog sensible children of over five years.
Woody has been happy to be left at home for short periods with the fosterers own dogs for company. He is not left for any longer than four hours during which time he is let out into the garden by a family friend. Woody travels well in the car as and will sit happily in the estate car or secured safely on the passenger seat.
Woody's foster Mum has this to say:
"I hope Woody finds a forever home as he has had lots of stress and upheaval in his short life. He is still a baby and still has lots to experience and learn but with the be understanding and love of the right people he will make a lovely pet."
Woody is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated.
