Homing Requirements: Barley needs a family who know how to support a terrier and manage him with loving care and promote his sense of self worth and allegiance with his owners. Barley needs to learn to be at the heart of a family and to be involved in activities relating to his needs and fulfilment. A secure garden and exit management are required as with any terrier. Retention on an extender lead while he learns to settle around other dogs. An only pet and no live-in or stay over children as he needs terrier savvy.
His Story: Barley was taken in by young family members and left in the care of the mother who wasn't a doggie person. Barley spent his time in the kitchen, conservatory and garden. Terrierrescue was approached to help find a terrier family to provide for his needs. Our vet has operated to correct a chronic problem to alleviate repeated infections. Barley is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Barley is now in kennels in Godstone, Surrey.
Advert: Barley is a lovely terrier. ~He loves his walks and is learning to be walked with other dogs whilst at the kennels. Barley travels well in the car; is housetrained and affectionate. He is joyful in encounter, but needs respect around his space and will settle when left.
Barley is a beautiful Parson's Jack Russell who is 6 years old and ready to come into a confident and patient family's care to bring him through and for him to explore his skills. He is a little nervous being integrated into a family and will need his space respected until he learns to share. Most terrier aware families would find him easy and absolutely adorable!
