Please read Rocco's details carefully before deciding to submit an application. Applications which do not meet the criteria will not be considered.
Rocco is an absolute delight who came to rescue through no fault of his own having been advertised 'free to good home'. Fortunately his owner was happy to accept a rescue space once the risks of such a homing were pointed out, and he has been a complete joy for his foster family.
Rocco is a 9 month old JRT X, currently in foster with a number of other dogs and absolutely relishing the pack setting. He is friendly and playful with them and shows no aggression or ill-temper in any situations. We would prefer to home him where there is at least one other playful and friendly dog for company. When meeting dogs out on walks Rocco is friendly, pleased to see them and wants to play.
This handsome little chap is also good with cats, so a home with them will be considered. We are unsure how he might be with small furries, but having shown no aggressive or hunt characteristics, he is young enough to learn to live alongside safely.
Rocco has been well behaved with children of all ages, and we would consider homes with children where evidence could be shown of an understanding of sensible behaviour, boundaries and personal space.
In fact Rocco loves everybody and everybody is his friend. He greets new faces with enthusiasm and interest, and willingly accepts fuss and petting from complete strangers.
Food and treats whilst happily accepted, can also be safely handled or removed without signs of possessiveness or guarding with this sweet natured boy. And he loves to play, so toys are all about fun fun fun!
Rocco settles and travels well in a car, can be left crated for up to 3 hours, and whilst he doesn't enjoy a bath he loves being groomed.
Lead-walking will need a little more work, as he becomes quite excited and can pull on the lead, or grab the lead in his mouth to play. But with some gentle reminders and regular active walks at a pace that keep his interest focused this is easily corrected. His recall is good and he responds to his name well.
Rocco is a little bundle of love, and his foster Mum has this to say about him:
"Rocco is a pup with loads of energy, loves people, dogs, just a great all rounder...will get very excited when you come home and needs training as he will jump up. He is just such a pleasure to have and we will miss him so much when he finds his forever home."
Rocco is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated.
Summary
