Hi All, Winnie is doing well, still the little diva as always. She has settled in so well it's like my dad has never been without herr. She is going to the vets tomorrow for her booster and I could really do with her medical history from TLDR. Can you please email to Sarah.douglas22@googlemail.com? many thanks.xx

I've just had a devastating telephone call from Sarah Over Christmas Winnie had a swollen jaw, which was treated with antibiotics as a suspected infection. The swelling grew larger and she returned for a follow up, where the vet took Xrays and a biopsy. The results have shown that Winnie has an aggressive form of cancer in her jaw which is non treatable. She has been given a prognosis of 2-3 weeks at the most but her quality of life is being discussed daily due to pain level and struggling to eat. Vincent is naturally devastated, and the whole family are in shock. This little girl has brought so much sunshine into their lives and the thought of losing her is awful. My thoughts are with Vincent, Sarah and the whole family. Winnie, you're a special girl, and you have had the best 7 months. Sending you so much love sweetheart, and when the time comes, wishing you safe journey XXXXX

I have the most amazing, wonderful, but also rather shocking update regarding Winnie. Sarah rang me this evening. As soon as the number came up on my phone I was prepared for the worst news. Instead it was absolutely the opposite... WINNIE is going to be fine!! It transpired that the vet was so certain of the outcome of the biopsies, he gave his diagnosis before the actual results were back...and now that they are, it's NOT cancer!!! Winnie has an unusual form of infection in the jaw, the symptoms very similar to what the vet suspected, BUT it is totally treatable. Her family are obviously over the moon, but having taken the news by phone today were heading down to the surgery tonight for some serious words and a discussion about the distress and trauma caused over the last 10 days, during which Winnie has lived on pain relief, mushed food and with a death sentence over her head They are all obviously over the moon despite their shock and anger...and can now look to getting Winnie back up to weight and out enjoying her walks again. I always knew this was a special girl, but she sure knows how to get hearts pounding

I know...I was shaking when I answered the call....and then had to apologise to Sarah for crying anyway...from relief! Although I'd like to smack the vet for putting everyone through that XX
