Billy was in a foster home with Bridget in Norfolk, not available for homing while he recovered from neutering. However, interviewing applicants for another little dog one application was spotted which suited Billy to a tee, so they were contacted and asked if they might be interested. Once all the usual checks were carried out and Billy was given the all clear by the vet, Bridget and Billy went off to visit his potential new home. Billy fitted in immediately with the resident dogs, playing and racing around...and what a venue to be doing it in: www.valentinearabians.com/Contact.htmlIt was love at first sight on both sides, and we're pleased to say that Billy is happily settling into his fabulous new home. Well done Billy! XX

Yes, we are absolutely thrilled with Billy and he IS settling in well with the other 2 delinquents! Billy has decided that he is also going to sleep ON the bed with Boss, Mum and Dad and no amount of discussions or persuasion will make him change his mind. Billy has such a sweet and gentle nature, even when the 'rough-housing' gets a little out of control and Boss the miniature Yorkie gets pinned to the ground by the slightly bigger Billy! Billy has fallen in love with our Romanian rescue, Isis (daxie x, spayed bitch) and they have much gentler games, with a few French kisses thrown in for good measure. Great games are had by all with the balls out on the lawn and all 3 come in exhausted with their tongues hanging out and they collapse for a 10 minute rest before heading outside to start all over again. Billy isn't sure of the huge 'dogs' in the paddocks though and they get told off in not uncertain terms for coming up to the fence to say 'hello', not that the 'dogs' take any notice...just snort and trot off in disgust, with the occasional buck thrown in for good measure.

Thank you for the update on Billy. It is so nice to hear of his exploits and to know that he has found such a wonderful home. I have to say, I think I would like you to adopt me as well!!

So lovely to see this update from his new home. Talking to Liz on the phone for the initial interview was a really uplifting experience, you could just feel the love and energy from her. And I know Bridget was disappointed that they didn't offer to adopt her along with Billy. Lol XX

Ooh, what a wonderful offer! Personally I love horses, and used to work and ride but had to give up after a spinal injury. I'd hoped my son would inherit my love of animals, and he has...all but horses which he is terrified of...even Shetland ponies! Lol. Totally shattered my dream of him becoming an accomplished show jumper! Luckily my niece is becoming just that, so I still get to hear about her horse and how she's doing with him.
Keep the Billy updates coming, it's lovely knowing how our littl'uns are faring after adoption XX

Well.......! We have a big black tom cat trying to move in! He sneaks into the house to feed if no-one is around, but slinks off when anyone appears and generally causes mayhem with the other cats. On Wednesday morning early (5.00am) when I let the dogs out (as you do), Billy picked up a scent and shot off barking his head off. I didn't think much of it as I assumed that he was off to do his business and went back inside to make my cup of coffee until I heard those horrible barks (you know the ones dogs make when they are cornered or hurt), well screams really! I haven't run that fast for years and there was Mr Billy (the big cat killer) in the corner behind the stallion's stable giving the black cat what for!!! The cat got away over the 'dog' security fencing and I picked Billy up and checked him over - no damage, but he was shaking like a leaf (don't know if was fright or anger, probably the latter) and brought him back inside. "Oh no, I'm not staying inside. I am going to kill that cat!" and out he went again (through the cat flap...oh yes, you read right, the cat flap), nose glued to the ground mumbling to himself...we left him to it! This morning when I let them out, same routine....barking and charging off to 'kill that cat' but no black 'bed doddy' (dead body) today! It is amazing that when they fixate on something, they suddenly forget their names and no amount of calling, shouting and yelling makes a blind bit of difference...selective hearing!!! Neither of Billy's pals have his passion for the black cat, probably because they didn't see him, but they follow him in any event...well that is, when they aren't rough and tumbling around the house and on the furniture AND on us! It is definitely like having 3 toddlers in the house...I am exhausted, but love them all!

Sounds like he's really gaining confidence and with it a mischievous side! Lol.
I have a cat and fostered a JRT that was absolutely fine with her for 3 days. On the 4th day he changed his mind about cats, chased her through the cat flap...and got stuck! He was a rather portly gent. We had to hack a bigger hole in the door to free him...which has never been repaired and is now a doggy door! Lol. XX

An update on our 'Silly Billy'. He has settled in really well and you would think he had been with us right from the beginning! He still remains very gentle and as soft as butter and just loves cuddling, however he tries to get 'inside' you when cuddling which can be quite smothering, to say the least...bless him. His coat (very fine and soft) is growing out nicely and he loves being brushed and will sit patiently while you get the knots out. He has had 2 baths and has been as good as gold...doesn't like the hairdryer though, so he is left to dry his front end first and the rest of his body on his own! Quite hysterical to watch!!! Both Billy and Boss have several 'mad' sessions during the day and last thing at night and charge around the cottage and garden like grease lightening...beware if you are in their path! Isis just watches them from the safety of the settee! 'Silly Billy's' only problem is chews...he wants ALL of them and isn't really keen to share but we will overcome that. Right must away and start bringing in the gees before the heavens open. More on 'Silly Billy' later.

Lovely to hear from you and to know how well Billy is doing. I think Billy wasn't too silly to have bagged such a fab home somehow Having several large breeds with that need to do the "cuddle as close as it's possible to ever possibly be" I know what you mean! Bless them! Lol XX
