Harry is being rehomed direct from his current home, through no fault of his own. His current owners are keen to ensure he finds the very best home and have asked for our help to find it for him.If it's a handsome, loyal companion who loves football and kisses that you're after, then look no further...Harry's your man! This leggy JRT x (he's 17" in height) is in his own home looking for a new one through no fault of his own. His family saved him from a pound and nursed him back to health, but their resident female is just too dominant for this gentle chap so they are looking for a home where he can really shine. Harry generally gets along well with other dogs, but is sometimes nervous if they approach him quickly - his general reaction to this is to bark or just completely ignore them and pretend it is not happening! He walks well on the lead and his recall is good when there are no distractions – although a little more training with the use of a long line would be beneficial. He is a clever boy and responsive to training. He has attended and passed a basic obedience course. He will take as much exercise as you can give him but will need at least two 30 minute active walks per day. Once walked he loves nothing more than to curl up asleep in his bed or on the sofa for cuddles. He is a great house dog, and loves to spend time with his humans. He is crate trained and can be left alone for a few hours at a time. His favourite toys are footballs and squeaky toys – he loves to play a good game of football. He has recently started agility classes, and although initially nervous he is now doing really well – and enjoys the challenge of it, so an agility family would be fantastic. We think he could live with a dog savvy cat, although he does like to chase squirrels and birds in typical terrier fashion. He has met children from 8 years and could live with respectful children of this age and above. Harry currently lives with another terrier x female dog that he gets bossed around by, so would prefer a female companion who is more accepting and would be an equal. He could also be homed as an only dog. He is respectful when playing with toys and eating alongside another dog. He can be a little unsure at times so relies on his humans or the other dog to reassure him. He gives fantastic cuddles, literally hooking his front legs over your shoulders for a close snuggle. Harry is neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped, and has no known health problems. If you are interested in adopting Harry please complete our online adoption form here:
www.littledogrescue.co.uk/PreAdoption.html
and someone will give you a call as soon as possible.

Congratulations, Harry, and an even bigger congratulations to your new owners! I hope that you will update us in due course.
Can I also say that from reading his back story, his previous owners not only did a fantastic job in saving him and caring for him, but also in making a very difficult decision. They clearly have always done the best by him and are a credit to the dog-owning world.
Vicki xx

I am so pleased that Rach and Doc have chosen Harry, and that Harry chose them to. They make a wonderful team together. I am over the moon to see him so happy, and the updates I have been getting from Rach are great.
Thank you Vicki, that is a really lovely thing to say. I do feel we have done right by him now and that he has just got the loveliest home.
Thank you very much to TLDR and especially Clare for helping me through what was an awfully difficult decision, and for finding a fantastic home for him. I really can't thank you enough xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello everyone! Well, it's now been a whole week and already little Harry feels like part of the family...he has completely stolen our hearts. I can't believe how well he has bonded with us both. For me, it's a joy to see how he and Doc's relationship has blossomed. He's settling in fantastically well and has continued pretty much with the good routines Katie already had in place. It's credit to Katie here as Harry has clearly been trained well so far which has made his change of home much easier. He has been extremely brave in more recent days and has spent short periods alone. Again, his routine with his Kong has helped here! He sleeps in his own bed upstairs and is OK until around 5am when he must be feeling a little chilly and tries his best to get to our feet under the duvet He's enjoying the countryside walks straight from the front door. The local cattle have had some strange looks from him and the smell of rabbits seems to be setting his senses alive! He's had some lengthy walks already and has the energy for more. We did a 6 miler this morning and he loved it. He gives us plenty of cuddles. Proper cuddles! Katie wasn't wrong when she described this about him. He definitely puts his paws around your neck and either licks you or nuzzles his head into your neck. I have always been mindful of what a difficult decision this has been for Katie but I hope there is comfort in knowing he is already very precious to us and we will continue to give him all that he needs.....including lots and lots of love. Thank you Katie for giving us this opportunity. X Thank you all at TLDR for giving us the avenue for linking up with Harry, he is without a doubt everything (and more) that we've been looking for. We found your process friendly but extremely thorough and we will highly recommend your good work. That's all for now. Will keep you posted. Rachel xxx

Hello again everyone.....
Just a further update for you.
It's now 3 weeks since Harry came in to our lives and things are still going really well for the little fella.
He had his health check at the vets this week and they confirmed he's in great condition. He was very well behaved and he wowed the vet with his obedience and personality.
He had his first bath recently and was fab at sitting there whilst I washed all the mud off him.
We did a Peaks challenge at the weekend for charity and he did 10 miles. He could've done more but we were knackered!!
We have done a lot of recall training with him since day 1. He has done so well that he's been allowed off his lead for brief periods of our walks this past few days (we are lucky in that we have enclosed fields/woodlands near to us so he's not near to a road). Wow...can this boy move...he's like a little pocket rocket !! He clearly loves having this bit of freedom (anyone who says dogs don't smile will have me disagreeing with them!) but does not hesitate to come back when called (unless he's sniffing a rabbit hole that is!).
We are taking him to Yorkshire for a one week holiday on the 27th April and we are so excited. We'll likely post a progress report when we return.
For now....it's over and out.
Rachel xxx

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that we had an amazing holiday with Harry in North Yorkshire. He was a pure joy to be with. He was extremely well behaved, chased many pheasants and showed a keen interest in rabbits! He even pounced on a snake hiding in the undergrowth (!) which was the first time I'd seen one in the wild in this country. He had a couple of visits to a dog friendly pub and was a little gentleman...very well behaved. He loved his couple of visits to the beach and has no fear when it comes to water.
He's now been with us for over 6 weeks and is fully settled in. He's loving his daily walks, especially when off his lead....he loves his freedom and saying hello to the local dogs. He's definitely attached himself to us and comes to call when asked.
I still can't believe how lucky we have been in finding this little lad - he's enhanced our lives no end and has managed to find a permanent place in our hearts.
I'm keeping Katie posted of his progress and she's enjoying receiving the pictures and videos I'm sending through to her.
That's all for now.
Rach xxx

Thank you so much for keeping us updated. My eyes were welling up reading your post. It is so wonderful to see such a happy ending for Harry - although it's really a happy beginning. I can only imagine how thrilled Katie must be to see that Harry has found a mum who clearly cherishes him.
