This beautiful little lady is Amy, a 4 yr old Jack Russell who is in a foster home in Bristol.
Amy is happily sharing the home with others dogs, but does like her space on a walk and will give a new dog or one who invades her space a bit of a grumble, but once properly introduced will walk alongside. This should be improved with further positive socialisation.
Amy definitely does not like cats though, and would not be suitable for a home with cats or other small furries.
She is not a dog to be pulled or poked, and whilst she wouldn't be nasty about it, she would be very unhappy. Having said that, with respectful children of all ages including toddlers she has been very well behaved. For this reason we would consider homing where children are 5 yrs and over, to ensure a home environment that allows Amy to settle and relax.
Amy can be a little chewy when playing but this shouldn't be a cause for concern for any dog savvy child/parent - she is also very respectful with this too and very quickly gets the hint if you aren't happy to play in this way. She will also only play with people she trusts, a good bond with Amy will mean she is just as responsive to you as you are to her.
Although Amy will need a little more training with regards to recall and lead-walking she is a girl who loves her people and wants to please, and the fosterer has found working with her a fun process.
Amy can be left for a maximum of 4 hours, more than this causes her to become unsettled, so a part-time worker or a home where someone is at home most of the day would be perfect.
Amy's foster Mum had really enjoyed caring for Amy and said she is the easiest foster dog she's had to date. We think you'll fall in love with her too...
Amy's foster Mum will be happy to answer any additional questions.
Amy is of course spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you are interested in adopting Amy please message Admin with your name and contact number (landline if possible) and one of our staff team will call you to take further details.
