Dolly JRT & Spud Terrier x - DOB 2008? Godstone, Surrey
Homing Requirements: Dolly and Spud are an item and must stay together. They need a terrier-experienced family to guide them whilst meeting dogs outside so they can learn to relax as they settle into their new home. Their family must have the means to support two dogs: including insurance, vet bills, etc. Spud suffers from a congenital eye ailment and whilst he has some vision, he has a history of repeated conjunctivitis. Both dogs could live with older children where exit management and security are maintained.

Their Story: Dolly and Spud were found stray in early October 2013. Dolly can be defensive meeting dogs outside and their initial Rescue Centre asked TerrierRescue to take them on to support their socialisation and to find their forever family. Both dogs are now neutered, chipped and vaccinated. They are located in boarding kennels near Godstone, Surrey.
Advert: Dolly is a dolly and Spud is no couch potato! Dolly is quite a feisty Jack Russell and will show her excitement upon an outside event. Spud is like a tiny shepherd, and is very connected to Dolly; if she sends out the alert, Spud joins in and responds, but both do settle quickly. They love to be off-lead in a secure area and really do need their own garden. Both would be at risk if they escaped through an open front door, so exit management, as with any terrier, is key. Managed on an extender, neither pulls on the lead – they just dance!
Dolly is an intermediate JRT and Spud is a small crossbreed, resembling a miniature German Shepherd. Both are about 5 years old and 16" – 17" at the shoulder. Dolly is extremely affectionate and very person-friendly. Spud is reserved by nature and waits for the tempo to settle; he allows Dolly to permit him a space to gain access to his lovely people. Dolly and Spud haven't had any spats within an intensive kennel environment so have proudly earned our 'Harmonious Pair' label.
