Prepare to ooh and aah... Please meet George, a delightful Yorkie x chap who we believe is around 12 months of age. We think he may have a touch of Mini Pinscher in his background as he is so dinky! UPDATE (12.6.2013): George's 'foster doggy companion' left for a new home recently and it has given his foster Mum chance to re-evaluate George's homing needs. George became quite withdrawn and quiet when Marley left, and has missed having a companion to share and play with.
Therefore we are looking for a home with one small, not too boisterous or dominant friend. George is still a little overwhelmed by bigger dogs, so a companion of a similar small size would be ideal. George likes the company of another dog, but is easily overwhelmed by a bouncy one due to his size.On arrival George was very timid and nervous, but has blossomed into an extremely loving and affectionate boy, proving to be well behaved around children aged 4+, and has shown no interest in the house rabbit, so we would consider a home with a placid, dog savvy cat. George has gained confidence from his walks alongside another foster dog, and while he can still be a little unnerved but loud lorries, or strangers approaching, he copes with these much better. He gains confidence from being walked alongside another dog. George plays well with toys, and loves to interact with his humans. He shows no possessive tendencies with food, toys or treats, and currently shares his meals with the other dog in the home from the same dish! Having learned to sit and give paw for a treat, George is also working on other basic commands and we would love a home who are willing to continue his training. He is now 100% house-trained, even when left for up to 2 hours. George travels well in a car, has good recall, enjoys being groomed and can be left for short periods. He does bark at the front door, postman and visitors arriving, but soon settles again. He greets new people with tail wags and barks. If the person is new to him he may be a little nervous and hide until he feels comfortable to say hello. If you are interested in adopting George please complete our online adoption form here:
www.littledogrescue.co.uk/PreAdoption.html
and someone will give you a call as soon as possible.

George has had over 20 applications. We are now taking no more applications for him. Please give us a few days to work through those already received and a decision will be made jointly with his fosterer as to the home most suitable. Thank you

George would be the ideal playmate for my tiny Coco, jack Russell x chihuahua. He looks about the same size as Coco, she is 8lbs.

George has been reserved twice, and both applications have been withdrawn for personal reasons, so he is still available.
Anyone who has already submitted an application who wishes to be considered can email adoptions@littledogrescue.co.uk giving their name and contact telephone number as your application will still be on record.
Thank you

wadsfam, we've not received an application with the same email address that you are registered with on the forum (assuming you used the same one). Could you possibly resend? We do have a couple of applications to look at, but could you give us a couple of days, we have a number of dogs needing to come in and are busy working on spaces for those, but will deal with applications asap. Thank you XX

All suitable applicants have been contacted where possible. Several were not contactable and have not returned message, however from the very many applications there were a couple of ideal situations and the fosterer is making a final decision this evening.

George has visitors tomorrow. If all goes well and George likes his potential new sister he will be living the jet set life, splitting his time between England and Spain with his very own Pet Passport. XX

George went off to his new life this afternoon. I was there to help with the paperwork and offer some moral support...and yes there were some tears for his foster Mum and Aimee. But George and their little dog Poppet got on so well, and they've already sent a text to say they've been for a long walk together, had a play together and we having a siesta with Dad! Lol.
Well done Claire and family for taking such good care of him and for building his confidence so well. From such a scared little bundle when he arrived to the happy chap who strutted out of the house with them this afternoon. Great job! XX
