Please read Toby’s details fully before deciding whether you can offer the right home for him. Toby is around 3 and a half years old and has already had at least 2 homes in his short life, not including his foster home. He has come into rescue due to his last owner’s ill health, but had previously spent long periods alone and unsocialised. As a result Toby is a timid little boy, who is cautious of meeting new people at first. However, he loves anyone who loves him, so quickly comes around and bonds easily. He is well behaved in all situations, and we would consider homing where nicely behaved children aged 8 years and over would respect his need for some space at times, and not treat him as a toy. He has lived with a cat and would be willing to share a home with one so long as they were nice to him. Toby is initially cautious of other dogs, but has no problem living alongside them as long as they are not in his face. He is still unsure about how to interact with other dogs and tends to keep himself to himself, but is not reactive to any particular breed or gender, so we would consider a home with a resident dog of any type so long as that dog was calm and friendly without being too intrusive. Toby would love someone at home all day, he really loves the company and becomes very bonded. He’d happily lay on your lap while you watch TV, or perhaps work from home. And he loves his walks and being out and about. Although he’s a Chi, he’s one of the larger variations and does weigh around 5kg, so he’s a nicely sized small dog. He walks beautifully on lead and travels well in the car and after some initial caution with new faces he is happy to make friends when meeting strangers outside the home. This gorgeous little lad is neutered and microchipped, and will be ready for a new home after his vaccinations are completed on 11th May. If you are interested in adopting Toby please complete our online adoption form here:
www.littledogrescue.co.uk/PreAdoption.html
and someone will give you a call as soon as possible.

Toby is looks to be a lovely little boy. I have a Jackchi female, Coco is 15 months old is speyed and a weighs 4.5 kilos. She is very friendly with humans and small dogs but is a little nervous of big dogs and seems afraid to play with them as they can be too rough. I am looking for a small playmate/companion for her do you think Toby would like to live with us?

Hello, We have 3 small dogs - 2 x Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and a Corgi cross. We also have 4 cats (who just treat the dogs like furniture) and 2 rescue hens (in the garden in a coop). We have had the Corgi cross from puppy, and one of the CKCS from 10 weeks old too. They are very well trained. We rescued our second CKCS last year from a puppy farm where she had been a breeding bitch, and she has learnt everything about being a dog from our other CKCS. She is still quite timid but has conquered sufficiently to become a Pets As Therapy PAT dog which she loves. We would love to have another dog, and Toby looks ideal. Please let me know if you think he would like to live with us. Thank you. Jen

' wouldnt be fair to him to place him with a dog who wants him to play' That rules us out then! Ollie would dearly love a playmate. Dad's just t-o-o-o-o boring!

Applications for Toby are being looked at over the next few days, there are a number of them so this will take a little time to ensure the most suitable home possible is found for him

Hello hadrena, I have filled out a form some time last week I think. My rescue CKCS, Molly, comes on walks with us, but just follows me at close quarters. Being an ex-breeding bitch from a puppy farm, she does not "get" the concept of playing and running about. I am sure Toby would be somewhat the same, which would fit in perfectly. The other 2 dogs seem to understand Molly, and just let her get on with it, just checking every so often that she is ok.

My husband and I would love this little chap to love and look after. We are at home all day and he would be cherished the same as our little Daisy who went to the big kennel in the sky. After the heartbreak we are now ready to give a loving home to Toby. I hope we are lucky. Fingers crossed. We have completed the form.Patrick and Susan X :D ;)

There are 2 people I've not been able to make contact with over the weekend. We give people a 3 callback opportunity, so I will try them again tomorrow. The shortlisted potential homes will then be passed to Hadrena to follow up. XX

Hello
I would just like to know the reason why I was not contacted to be considered for Toby Chi 3 1/2 years. I did state that the reason I have not had a dog in the past and only cats is because I would be out all day. Now I am retired I have plenty of time to give lots of love and attention to Toby. I

This is a little message from Toby:- Thank you to everyone that wanted to adopt me but I have found my perfect forever Mommy and Daddy. I have a lovely home and I am getting lot's of love and cuddles. I live in a lovely country village and we have been for walks which I have really enjoyed. My Mommy and Daddy have bought me a lovely comfy bed and I sleep there all night by the side of my Mommy. In the daytime I can relax fully stretched on a big sofa and snore my head off until I decide to have a play with my Daddy and my teddies. I am so lucky we are going on our holiday in a few weeks, off to Brixham I can not wait I have never been there before. Well must go my Mommy is getting ready for our afternoon walk. Cheerio everyone. Woof Woof TOBY XXX

Susan sent me this message: "Hi Clare Lovely day today. We took Toby into town yesterday as on a Friday morning we always go to the W.I. Country Market for all our home made bread, cakes and chutneys. They all fell in love with him. He could charm the birds out of the tree's!! Here are a few more pics of the little man. Take care Susan X
